Fight to the Finish is the story of an ordinary yet extraordinary man. The late Gordon MacPherson, like so many in the Durham coalfield a miner and family man, took the time to write his memories, musings and comments on the life going on around him. Often humorous, sometimes pained by the injustice he witnessed and experienced, Gordon's writing has unwittingly provided us with a social history of his community and wider world through the eyes of a working class man in the 20th century.
