A graduate of the MA in Creative Writing at Northumbria University, Allison writes prose, poetry and script. Her work has appeared in a number of anthologies and on the web. In 2004 she won a national short story competition (Good Housekeeping magazine) with The Prophet, a story set in India, where she lived for a while.

When she’s not writing Allison divides her time between photography and her work with a fair trade and development project, Danusha, providing skills training to women in south east Nepal.   In fact Allison's photo was taken in Nepal whilst making a promo DVD for a rural development project - hence the fancy dress!

Allison has read at several poetry events in Northumberland and is currently working on a  novel and a series of radio dramas.

Additional Info

Danusha works in partnership with Nepal Leprosy Trust to provide employment for people in rural Nepal. They produce ethically made jewellery for sale in Nepal and the UK.
